As the Tokyo Olympics 2020 is scheduled to take place in the month of July and August, the atmosphere in the city is expected to be humid and hot. So to avoid the sweltering heat, so the organizing committee of the Tokyo 2020 events recently announced that the two more Olympic events, the triathlon and equestrian cross country, have been rescheduled to an early start.
The temperature in the city during the event regularly exceeds 30c along with high humidity, which will certainly lead to discomfort and health concerns in the preparations of the participating athlete. In one of the most prestigious events of Olympics, the marathon discipline and the race walk events have already been rescheduled by the International Olympic Committee to the coolest place of Sapporo, 800 km’s to the north of the city.

The 2020 Olympic organizers said that the starting time for the Men’s and Women’s individual triathlons has been moved from 7.30 a.m (2230 GMT) to 6.30 am, while the mixed team relay would also commence an hour earlier at 7.30 am. The cross country segment of the equestrian competition has been rescheduled between 7.30 am and 8 am from 8.30 am.

The discussions of the above-rescheduled plan were approved and discussed between 2020 organizers and the International Organizing Committee, who are currently hosting their Executive Board meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Due to the excessive heat conditions in the city in the month of August, the sport’s governing body was forced to shorten the running distance in the Woman’s event of the Tokyo 2020 triathlon event.
Also, the Tokyo officials canceled the swimming segment, a test event of the Paralympics event, due to the high levels of the E.coli bacteria, which is another setback for the Olympic organizers.
