The all-time great, surfing legend Kelly Slater will miss out Tokyo Olympic 2020 games, that are scheduled to begin from 24th July. The eleven-time world champion got defeated in the semi-final against his Brazilian contender Italo Ferreira at the Banzai Pipeline event in Hawaii. A failure in the Banzai Pipeline games Semi-Finals left him behind 2016 and 2017 world champion Florene, ranking at the 8th spots. Florence after facing a knee injury had to miss five out of 11 surfing events this year. In a much-needed victory for slater to qualify into the 2020 Olympic games, his debacle against Brazils Italo Ferreira made a path clear for Florene to perform for the upcoming 2020 Tokyo Olympic games. Now despite moving out of the semifinals, John Florene will team up with Kolohe Andino of California in the summer Olympic games.
