However, Punia’s coach Shako Bentinidis cleared all the speculations and assured that there was nothing to worry.
Bajrang Punia is currently competing in a local Russia tournament. He skipped the Poland Open to train in Russia. In the Ali Alyev tournament, Bajrang Punia was up against A Kudyev in the semifinal when he sustained the injury.
Punia got injured when his opponent attacked his right leg and pulled him. Immediately, Punia was in pain and lying down on the mat. The opponent went for a pin but Punia had already given up. The referee stopped the bout and called for physio.
After the physio attended Bajrang, he was seen limping off the venue.

He is fine and normal. He has been given pain-killing injection. It does not look serious, he should be okay.
On Saturday, Bajrang Punia tweeted and informed everyone about his health. He told that there was nothing serious and he will be back on the mat within few days.

Bajrang Punia is the second-ranked player in the 65 Kgs category. So he is one of the medal candidates at the Tokyo Olympics 2021. The Tokyo Olympics 2021 will open on 23rd July.
